What is Web-O-Random?
A random website viewer by Michael Mahemoff. Into the blue slide/carousel object comes a bunch of websites which you can play with. Click "Randomize" to get
a new list of websites.
How do I change the website I'm viewing?
Click on the website info in the blue carousel to change the website. Move the carousel left and right with the arrows on its side.
You can also use left and right arrows on the keyboard to move to the next, or previous, site.
How do I open up a website?
Click on the
icon inside the blue carousel.
Why do some sites failt to load or show error messages?
They might be down temporarily, or the website in our database may longer exist. The database comes from Dmoz, and it's possible one of the editor
hasn't yet noticed a change.
Why do some sites not load inside the frame, but instead replace Web-O-Random to take up the whole page?
Approximately 1 in 100 sites contains code to prevent being included in an IFrame, and unfortunately such sites will break Web-O-Random.
You can just click the Back button when this happens.
Can I search?
Sort of, but it's really slow. For now, you can start a search by clicking on the topic breadcrumbs just above the website frame (e.g. "Top > Recreation > Food ...").
Did I mention it's *really* slow?
Why is it at Weborandom.com and not Web-O-Random.com?
Web-O-Random.com works too and redirects to Weborandom (as does Weborandum). It should really be the other way round.
Where can I find a ton of other cool Ajax apps?
Why, I'm glad you asked, because the Ajax Examples page on the AjaxPatterns.org wiki links to
hundreds of online Ajax apps.
